challenge
With increased demand for high-quality, premium products in the shelf-stable seafood category, Oceans Brands was looking to enter the competitive US market with a unique and ownable brand design that would stand out on shelf and appeal to adventurous, discerning food lovers.
solution
An all-encompassing approach to the project was taken, with consideration given to the competitive set and how a strong strategy could help differentiate the brand visually.
Through playful, custom illustrations and modern, bold colors, the tin, pouches and cartonettes create a cohesive brand experience that is eye-catching and conveys flavor, quality and value. Protein callouts and additional reasons to believe are clearly communicated on pack to ensure that consumers are able to make an informed purchase decision.
results
Though the project initially started with just tins, the success of the products and retailer buy-in warranted more flavors and formats for Oceans. In 2023, the cartonettes were recognized by PAC with an Award of Distinction in the Brand Marketing – New Food category, and the following year, in 2024, the pouches were a winner of GDUSA’s American Graphic Design Awards.
