A Case Study in Agency-Client Collaboration

A Case Study in Agency-Client Collaboration & Transformation

Invok Brands and RoC Skincare improved processes and got a more effective and harmonious workflow – and more sales.

Process improvement between a client and agency doesn't have to be a big deal; just practical. This case study is the story of an Invok account director and her marketing director partner at RoC Skincare and how they eased workloads and improved collaboration for each other and their teams.

First, they introduced a one-page creative brief to share the bare minimum of information needed by the design team to start work. Designers can then hit the ground running and use their account knowledge to design.

The next step was to make this brief easy to access.

"Even the most organized person sometimes can't find the information they need in their email," says Lauren. To address this problem, she and Britni rolled out a communication and collaboration app across RoC and Invok.

"It's much easier than digging back through email chains," says Britni, "And I'm striving to make things easier for my RoC colleagues, too. The Slack communications and collaboration tool lets them clarify details or make small requests to Invok designers, removing me from the middle."

Is the effort to make the change worth it? It appears so. RoC Skincare had a compelling result from the improved processes. Better creative was delivered more quickly, and a recent Costco Club Pack of Day & Night Creams performed 141% to forecast; as of writing, this was the best performing pack RoC ever had at Costco.

When setting out to increase efficiency and effectiveness, tailor your improvement for a specific task. Look for a simple approach that comes naturally and fills the gap in your workflow.
